How can a shopping site predict the products you will buy? Do the ads you see on social media come randomly? What’s the criteria for the TV series recommended to you on Netflix? The answer to these and many similar questions is actually Artificial Intelligence algorithms, which are a part of our lives. These algorithms compile the traces we leave on the digital world in daily life, make meaningful inferences and try to predict our next step.

In this course, we will try to understand the mathematical structure behind all systems and make inferences by designing machine learning algorithms with our own data sets. With this course we will use the Python programming language intensively and you will have taken the first step into artificial intelligence studies.

Sibel Cansu, PhD.
Sibel Cansu is a mathematics engineer. She is working as an assistant professor at a state university. Her studies are on machine learning, artificial intelligence, commutative algebra, and science olympiads. She gives python and machine learning lectures to high school students in programs founded by NGOs. She is a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien believes in elves.

Fatih K. Cansu, PhDc.
Fatih K. Cansu is working as a Computer Science teacher at Robert College and he gives lectures on Introduction to Programming and AP Computer Science.  His bachelor's degree is in mathematics and his graduate degrees are in mathematics education, education management, and mathematical programming. His Ph.D. study is in Computer Science Education. He is also working as an academic curriculum developer for TUBITAK. He is the author of mathematics olympiad books and computer science olympiad books. Some fun facts about Fatih; he loves fantastic fiction and science fiction books, he is a hidden Jedi and he crafts model ships and planes as a hobby!
