Zeynep Baransel

Robert College art teacher Zeynep Baransel is an artist, printmaker, and a cum laude graduate from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, Italy. She holds an associate degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Istituto Lorenzo de Medici, Florence, and a MA in Printmaking from Il Bisonte, which is regarded as one of Europe’s finest printmaking institutions. After completing her ten years long journey in Italy, she returned to İstanbul in 2007 and has worked in universities, primary, middle and high schools, and taught art to all levels ever since. She is teaching Ceramics & Glass Technologies, Studio Art and Graphic Design courses and running a Fine Arts club, and a Ceramics after school club at Robert College. Reading is one of her passions, which led her to become a professional translator in 2002 and translate a wide range of books on art and psychoanalysis, novels, and short stories. She is an avid swimmer, and a lover of nature and animals. She loves to observe the joy and satisfaction spreading on students’ faces as they create artworks in class, and she enjoys guiding them to discover their creativity to express themselves.
