Advanced Basketball Tactics and Strategies

This course is for students who have several years of experience playing basketball (either on a team or informally) and would like to deepen their knowledge of the game. While no team strategy will work well unless the players are proficient in the fundamental skills of the game, increasing their knowledge of the various offensive and defensive strategies prevalent in the modern game will help them take their game to the next level by allowing them to become a smarter basketball player.

Using a mixture of video analysis and on-court practice, players will learn in detail many tactics which underpin some of the most common offensive and defensive strategies used in modern basketball games. Each day will end with game-play to allow players to immediately put the newly-learned strategies into practice. This course is ideal for players who are interested in being a basketball coach in the future, as in addition to studying basketball tactics in-depth, students will also have opportunities to create their own tactics and strategies and teach them to the group.
