Conversational French Immersion

This course is designed for students who have an A2 level of French or above. It is designed to put students into an immersive environment in which students hear and speak only French while they engage in a range of different activities. The objective is to help students improve their spoken proficiency and active vocabulary in French by giving them as many opportunities as possible to produce spontaneous spoken French in a variety of different situations.

Examples of types of  activities include role-plays, dialogues, debates, general conversation topics, engaging in humor/comedy, learning French music/songs, playing games and immersion walks around campus. Students will also get accent and pronunciation training to sound more like a native speaker. Any language besides French will be discouraged at all times and fun consequences for speaking other languages will be designed to help them improve their spoken French. The course will include a field trip to the French Institute. The students will perform short skits in French on the last day of the course to demonstrate their oral French skills.
